Awards ceremony for undertaking doctoral fellowships in Spain in 2018


On 12 July, CosmoCaixa Barcelona held the ceremony to award "la Caixa” fellowship diplomas for undertaking doctorates in Spanish universities and research centres for the 2018 call for applications.

The act was chaired by Mr Jaume Giró, Chief Executive Officer of “la Caixa” Foundation and was attended by Mr José Manuel Pingarrón, secretary general of Universities and Mr César de la Fuente, representing the group of fellows.

A total of seventy-seven young students from twenty-nine different countries that are undertaking their doctorates spread across leading universities and research centres in Spain. Here are some of them.

Rama Prajapati (Spain, 2018) is carrying out her doctorate at the IMDEA Nanoscience Foundation and her research focuses on studying pancreatic cancer. All the details of her project in the video.

Javier Arguëllo (Spain, 2018) is undertaking his doctorate at the ICFO (Institute of Photonic Science) and is focusing his studies on quantum interactions at a microscopic scale. All the details of his project in the video

Ifeanyi Ezeonwumeju (Spain, 2018) is carrying out his doctorate at the IGTP (Germans Trias i Pujol Research Institute). His research focuses on finding new drugs to eradicate HIV. All the details of his project in the video.
